Found in the northwest region of Thailand, reports have surfaced of strange, hairy elephants. Named the Thai Mammoths, these creatures were photographed in 1984 by the Thai princess Rangsrinopadorn Yukol.

Appearance & Description Edit

The Thai Mammoths look like large elephants, but with large amounts of long hair on their backs, as well as around the base of the tusks.

Theories/Explanations Edit

One theory states that these Thai Mammoths are a surviving population of some mammoth or mastodon species, or maybe a new species all together. Others say that they are simply a group of normal Asian elephant (Elephas maximus) that retained a large portion of juvenile hair, a condition that sometimes occurs in the northern part of the elephant’s range.
