The Loch Ness Monster (often shorted to Nessie) is a cryptid from Scotland. It swims in Loch Ness, Scotland. It is, along with Bigfoot and the Chupacabra, one of the most famous cryptids in the world.

Appearance & Description[]

The Loch Ness Monster is described as having a roundish body, a short tail, four flippers, and a long neck. This description has lead cryptozoologists to believe that it is a relic plesiosaur--a creature from the time of the dinosaurs.

Theories/Explanations[]

Most people believe Nessie to be a relict plesiosaur. Other theories include large, unknown amphibians or freshwater eels, as well as the always present idea of hoaxes and misinterpretations.
